St. John’s United Church of Christ in by Linda to shop for
Sabillasville and honors their Ladies’ Guild. Calhoun Christmas!
The Guild was in existence seventy-five
years, from 1932-2007.
Inside the book, you will find a story
of the first twenty years of the Guild’s
existence—taken from their minutes—two
pictures of Guild members, helpful hints,
and many recipes from Sabillasville and
surrounding communities. This book would
make a great gift. The book was compiled by Joan Bittner Fry and printed by
E Plus Graphics, Printing, and Promotions in Emmitsburg.

I hear jingle bells ringing
They tell me that Christmas day
Will bring the angels singing,
“In God’s peace, go your way!”
I see a maji star beaming
Over a stable of straw
Bringing the hope of redeeming
Fulfilling the Bible’s Old Law.
I feel the raw winter cold
Winds raking over the land.
Again comes the message of old:
“Take refuge in Jesus’ hand.”
Year after year my senses repeat
The blessing God sends as His treat
