Volunteers Celebrated by the Fort Ritchie Community Center

Several individuals and organizations were honored by the Fort Ritchie Community Center at its recent Volunteer Recognition Dinner. More than 100 guests enjoyed the evening, which featured a catered meal and live music. First United Bank not only sponsored the event but also provided volunteers to assist with the festivities. The dinner was established as a method to celebrate and acknowledge the vital role volunteers play in fulfilling the community center’s mission.

Volunteers play a vital role in many of the center’s events, such as food distribution, blood drives, craft bazaars, fishing tournaments, and community events like the annual Spring Egg Hunt, Halloween’s Trunk or Treat, and Breakfast with Santa.

Organizations receiving special recognition for their service included: Specialty Granules Inc., STAR Community, and Tabitha’s Table.

Individuals thanked for going above and beyond in volunteering at the center included: The Sherman Family (Emily, Rich, Alex, and Owen), Paul Gunder, and Lindsey Ridenour.

“We are very fortunate to have such great people and organizations involved,” said Buck Browning, the center’s executive director. “They are inspiring and they make us a better community.”

The Fort Ritchie Community Center is celebrating its 17th anniversary in 2025. For more information about its programs and events, please visit www.thefrcc.org.
