Thurmont Resident Wins Maryland Lottery’s Second Chance Drawing

Timothy Goenner and his wife, Thanh Van phan, of Thurmont recently won the chance to participate in the Warehouse Dash, which included a round-trip, all-expenses-paid trip to Chicago through the Maryland Lottery’s Second Chance Drawing.

Maryland’s Second Chance Lottery is part of the My Lottery Rewards program, a free loyalty program that gives players additional opportunities to win prizes with eligible lottery tickets—even if they didn’t win the first time.

On the trip, the Goenners received free meals, a riverboat tour, and $1,000 in spending money, in addition to the chance to participate in the Warehouse Dash.

For the Dash, the Goenners had two proxies who helped them in the race to grab whatever items they could in 90 seconds.  

There was strategy behind the game. The day prior to the Dash, the couple had 30 minutes to walk the warehouse to plan what items they were going to toss in the cart. In the end, anything from a computer to a weather station ended up in their cart.

The Maryland Lottery recently delivered the prizes directly to his doorstep via truck.

Timothy encourages everyone to scan their losing tickets for their second chance to win! This isn’t the first time they’ve won. The Thurmont residents have enjoyed other all-expense-paid trips through the program.
