Thurmont Little League Hit-A-Thon Once Again a Success!

Alisha Yocum

Thurmont Little League held its annual fundraiser, the Hit-A-Thon, on May 3. Players from each team competed to both raise the most money and to hit the longest ball. Players received one hit for each $10 collected.

Together, the over 200 Little Leaguers, raised over $19,000 for the league, which will go to cover the cost of field improvements, uniforms and equipment, and other items needed. As a way to give back, players were also asked to bring canned food donations for the local food bank. At the end of the day over 400 items had been collected.

The Thurmont Little League wants to give a big shout out to the community who keeps supporting the league allowing them to offer a strong baseball program in the Catoctin Community. Below are this year’s winner.
