Sons of the American Revolution Essay Contest

Three students from Sabillasville Environmental School were selected as winners in the Sons of the American Revolution Essay Contest: Quinton Runion, Harper Holmes, and Evan Matthews (pictured above).

This year’s essay topic focused on Charles Carroll of Carrollton, a wealthy Maryland planter, delegate to the Continental Congress, and the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.

The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the patriotism and sacrifices of the men and women who contributed to American independence. Through education, historic preservation, and community service, the organization promotes patriotism and inspires future generations to learn about the founding principles of the United States.
