
Floyd Beachley Kennedy

Floyd Beachley Kennedy, 84, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro, PA, surrounded by loving family.
Born on March 15, 1941, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Lucille Myrtle (Lankford) and John Franklin Kennedy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darren Scott Kennedy; sisters, Dolores V. Hessong, Catherine Kennedy, and Charlotte C. St. Martin; and brother, Frank W. Kennedy.
Floyd served in the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam veteran and received the Bronze Star and Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ BS and SS.
After serving his duty in the military, Floyd went on to work at Ft. Detrick until his retirement in 2000.
Floyd was a member of Williamsport American Legion, Post 202, Williamsport, MD, and Cumberland Valley Pigeon Racers.
Floyd enjoyed flying his pigeons, farming, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet Ann (Zelley) Kennedy; daughters, Teresa “Tess” Hahn and husband, Terry, of Sabillasville, MD; Tammy J. Kennedy of Fayetteville, NC; and Carol D. Fordham of Cochran, GA; grandchildren, Shelby L. Green (Tyler), Dustin N. Hahn (Shayna Heffner), Robert L. Hahn (Stephanie), and Evan S. Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Jason, Addelynn and Westin; and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing was held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
A Memorial Service was held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Deerfield United Methodist Church, 16405 Foxville Deerfield Road, Sabillasville, MD 21780, with Pastor Brian Tedrick officiating. Private Interment will be at a later date in Rocky Gap Veterans’ Cemetery, Flintstone, MD.
