Emmitsburg Community Chorus to Perform Free Concert at Basilica of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
The Emmitsburg Community Chorus kicks off its fall season with a free performance at the historic Basilica of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1. Under the direction of Peggy Flickinger, the 31-voice group includes members from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. They are accompanied by pianist Lisa Mattia.
The concert features holiday favorites, including: Angels’ Carol; Emmanuel! God with Us!; Far Away in a Manger; Gift Wrap Riot; Hallelujah Chorus; I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas; Now Is the Hour; On Christmas Night; Paean of Advent; Sleeps Judea Fair; Slow Rockin’ Christmas; This Holy Night; Visit Us, Emmanuel; We Call It Christmas; and What Sweeter Music. Additional small group selections also will be performed at each concert.

Saturday, December 7—Lewistown United Methodist Church, 11032 Hessong Bridge Road, Thurmont, at 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 8—Homewood at Crumland Farms, The Lodges Great Room and Event Center, 500 Pearson Circle, Frederick, at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, December 10—Catoctin View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 15601 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Thurmont, at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 15—St. John’s Lutheran Church, 8619 Blacks Mill Road, Thurmont (Creagerstown), at 4:00 p.m.
The nonprofit Emmitsburg Community Chorus was founded in 1966. Their concerts are made possible in part through a grant from the Frederick Arts Council. Freewill offerings will be accepted at all the concerts, except for the one at Homewood.
