Emmitsburg 50+ Center

It’s going to be a great summer here at Emmitsburg 50+ Community Center! We have a variety of programs to get you out and about this summer season. For the crafty, we have a Mosaic Steppingstone Project on July 9, and a Dollar Craft Day on July 15, where we’ll make a simple dollar store craft. We also have Dorothea Barrick returning to teach a Beach Watercolor class on July 22.
For anyone who has ever wondered what type of birds are visiting their porch, join us for Backyard Birding on July 16. We’ll learn how to identify birds, how to attract them, and the best places to birdwatch in Frederick County.
Who doesn’t love a summer movie? On July 30, we will take a trip to Warehouse Cinemas to watch one of this summer’s blockbusters. The $20.00 registration fee includes transportation, movie ticket, and snack pack.
We’re also introducing a new program on Mondays at 2:30 p.m.: Trivia with a Twist. This trivia will include classic questions in a variety of categories and music elements as well. Play for fun, show off your skills, and learn something new!
If you are interested in fitness in air-conditioning, we have video exercise every morning, Chair Yoga with Christina continuing on Monday afternoons, and Unrulies pickleball on Wednesdays and Fridays.
This summer, there is something for everyone! To pre-register for any of these programs, please call 301-600-6350 or visit emmitsburgseniorcenter@frederickcountymd.gov. For a copy of the calendar, stop by the senior center at 300 S. Seton Avenue in Emmitsburg (lower level), or visit our website at www.frederickcountymd.gov/virtual50.
