Registration for the upcoming Catoctin Youth Association Soccer Club (CYASC) Spring 2017 season is now open. Athletes (ages 3 through 19) can register online at www.cyasc.com, now through February 4, 2017.

The U6 program (under age 6) holds two training nights per week, focusing on the development of individual skills in a fun learning environment over the course of eight weeks. The cost per athlete is $55.00 and includes a t-shirt.

CYASC’s U9 (including ages 7, 8, and 9) through U19 athletes participate in the Frederick County Youth Soccer League (FCYSL) or Soccer Association of Montgomery (SAM). FCYSL is a recreational soccer league with different competitive level divisions. Teams play matches throughout Frederick County, nearby areas of Washington County, Carroll County, Southern Pennsylvania, and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. SAM offers a higher level of competition than FCYSL, with all matches played at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Maryland. Evaluations for the top FCYSL division and SAM teams will be held in January. Athletes interested in taking part in evaluations must register before January 20 to receive details.

All U9+ athletes will receive age-appropriate training two to three times per week.  Matches are held on Saturdays and/or Sundays. Athletes will participate in a season-ending tournament and have the option to participate in other area tournaments. The registration cost per athlete is $85.00 in FCYSL or $200 for athletes participating in the SAM program. A uniform kit must be purchased separately for athletes new to the program or returning athletes needing a replacement. The uniform cost depends on the athlete’s age and program. Optional tournaments may require an additional small fee to cover the cost of team registration.

Be sure to register before it’s too late; U9+ training begins early March and U6 begins early April.
