While many know Elle Smith as a familiar face in local real estate with J&B, it’s her unwavering dedication to the community, warm presence, and genuine kindness that are what truly set her apart.

She frequently sponsors many of the local sports teams and was recently selected by Thurmont Little League to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Opening Day in recognition of her ongoing support of the league.

“Youth sports are something close to my heart because they help kids build character, teamwork, and confidence,” Smith said.

But her impact goes far beyond the ballfield. From volunteering at school concerts and musicals to cheering on academic competitions, Smith is a constant presence. This year, the Catoctin Academic Team affectionately dubbed her their “most enthusiastic spectator.”

“I believe the arts are just as important as youth sports,” Smith adds. “It’s all about helping each child find their community—what inspires them and helps them grow.”

Smith’s support doesn’t stop there. “Her generosity extends to community events, where she’s known for rolling up her sleeves to help—whether it’s guest bartending at the Art & Wine Stroll, judging Halloween in the Park, handing out toys at Christmas in Thurmont, or setting up holiday lights in the town park,” said Erin Code, a friend of Smith.

In addition to her volunteer work, Smith is a proud member of the American Legion Post 168 Ladies Auxiliary, and she has served on the Children and Family Ministry Committee at Lewistown United Methodist Church, where she also helps manage the website and social media.

“Growing up in Frederick County, I’ve always felt a strong connection to the area, and it’s been a big part of why I love doing what I do. I’m passionate about making a positive impact here because I believe in the power of community. It’s about more than just real estate; it’s about supporting the people who make this place special.”
