American Legion Post 168, Thurmont

June was the installation of officers. We are pleased to share with you the following Volunteers that have stepped up to hold an Office and serve our Veterans and Community.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every other (even) month at 7:00 p.m.

Auxiliary: President Alesha Subasic, 1st Vice Victoria Anderson, 2nd Vice Denice Dujardin, Secretary Lisa (Eyler) Reed, Correspondence Secretary Palma Willard and Denice Dujardin, Sgt. At Arms Amanda Barth, Treasurer Joyce Glass, Chaplin Alice Eyler, Historian Joyce Glass.

July was the start of the new calendar year for the American Legion. Several members from the Legion, SAL, and Auxiliary started this new year by attending the Department of Maryland 107th (104th for Auxiliary) Annual Convention in Ocean City, Maryland. Join us for our meetings to be informed about what is happening during 2025-2026.

Speaking of a new year, your membership dues for 2026 are now being accepted at the bar or by mailing to the Thurmont American Legion, 8 Park Lane, Thurmont, MD 21788 (please state on the envelope whether it is Legion, SAL, or Auxiliary membership dues): Legion Membership-$45.00; SAL­

$25.00, (under 21) $15.00; Auxiliary-$35.00, Juniors-$12.00.

Applications are available at the Thurmont Legion for Post 168, and we would love to invite you to our Post home!

The Legion membership picnic will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m. Doors will open at noon. Tickets are $25.00 per person and will go on sale after August 15. You must show your 2025 membership card to purchase a ticket and to be admitted to the picnic.
