American Legion Post 168, Thurmont

June was a very busy month at the Legion! We presented scholarships to six graduates of Catoctin High School. The Sons Annual Car Show had 87 entries, the Annual Golf Tournament had 21 Teams (84 golfers), and the days were beautiful!

Installation of new officers was held for the Legionnaires, Sons, and Auxiliary. So, come out and support your new officers for the year 2026-2027. Legionnaires—Third Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.; SAL—First Tuesday every other Month (even months) at 7:00 p.m.; Auxiliary—Third Monday at 7:00 p.m. We are always looking for new ideas.

Even though there will not be any meetings in July due to the Convention in Ocean City, Maryland, please start the new year by attending as many meetings as you can and sharing your ideas or just helping with the events. Get more involved for our Veterans!

The new Membership year also begins July 1, 2026. The dues are: Legionnaires—$45.00; Sons of American Legion—$25.00 (over 21 years of age) and $15.00 (under 21 years of age); Auxiliary—$35.00; Junior Auxiliary—$15.00. Dues will be accepted at the bar starting on August 1. If you pay at the bar, you can get your card at the same time.

The kitchen will be closed July 8 through July 10. Have a great summer!
