Melvin Jones Fellowship
Lion Julie El-Taher presented a
Melvin Jones Fellowship to Lion

at the Thurmont Lions Club (TLC)
meeting on June 27, 2018. A Melvin
Jones Fellowship program is a means
of honoring individuals within the
club for outstanding service. Such
an award is considered to be one of
highest honors a Lion can receive.
Lion Wendy has been a member of the
TLC since 2007, the Catoctin High
School Leo club advisor, the club’s
photographer, a member of several ads @ thecatoctinbanner . com
TLC committees, and has actively
supported the club’s fundraising
projects. Lion Wendy will be retiring
this year and moving out of the area.
The Thurmont Lions Club is a group of community-minded men and
women who come together to enjoy each other’s company, hear interesting
programs and raise funds for important local or vision-related activities.
They meet at 6:30 pm on the second and forth Wednesday at Mountain
