CYA Football & Cheer Hosts 2nd Annual “Gives Back Day”

By Alisha Yocum

Catoctin Youth Association (CYA) Football & Cheer believes what you do on off the field is just as important as what you do on the field. To emphasize this to their athletes, the organization started a day focused on giving back to organizations who are doing great things for our community.

Now in its second year, the teams once again selected organizations that were meaningful to them. The teams then put together raffle baskets as a way to raise funds for the organization they selected. Throughout the day representatives from each of the organizations were recognized as part of the day’s ceremonies highlighting the work they are doing in the community.

Thanks to the CYA athletes, their families and spectators, over $1,000 was raised and donated back to the organizations highlighted in the pictures below.
