The CHS Theatre Department

Presents Varney the Vampire

By Zo Wetzel

Catoctin High School’s Drama Department invites you to experience Varney the Vampire in our own auditorium on December 4 and 5 at 7:00 p.m. This event is completely open to the public.

The year is 1900, and a world-weary vampire, Sir Francis Varney (Andi Bentz), arrives at “The Inn of the Grumpy Wolf” in southern Italy. He plans to visit a nearby haunted grotto to beg forgiveness from the ghost of his lost love, Amelia (Sarah Troutman). His intentions are derailed when he sees the beautiful English damsel, Flora Bannerworth (Aubrey Best), and in no time at all, the bodies begin to drop all over the countryside.

Will Inspector Balsadella (Hayden Felichko) be able to solve these crimes? Will Richard Dearborn (Charles McGinnis) rescue his fiancee from the vampire’s grip? Can Varney’s bloodlust be sated, and will anyone be left standing by the end? Find out this December!

Tickets are available for purchase: $6.00 for FCPS students, $8.00 for guests, and free for FCPS staff members. Crochet Artist Saleena DeVore will also be attending the event to sell handmade bats. Catoctin High’s Theatre Department eagerly awaits your attendance and support. Get your tickets at https://cur8.com/16998/project/141648. Check out the advertisement on page 37.
