A Change of Scenery

To the Market We Go
You don’t have to go to France to get a taste of French cuisine. Save yourself the expense of foreign travel and simply go to the award-winning Thurmont Main Street Farmers’ Market on Saturday morning. Grab a crepe from the Macizo Taste tent for a real treat. Supplement your crepe with a cup of coffee from the Red Envelope trailer for a truly satisfying breakfast.
If crepes are not your thing, check out some of the other food vendors as you stroll around in the shade. Perhaps an apple turnover is more to your liking to start your day. Some of the vendors specialize in bakery goods. Trying to eat healthy? Visit produce vendors for fresh veggies and fruit. How about something a bit more carnivorous? Look for the locally raised beef, chicken, or eggs. Have you ever tried goat soap?
Don’t worry about bringing the kids along. The Market is in the Thurmont Community Park, adjacent to the picnic shelters and playground. Stroll a little bit. Play a little bit. Eat a little bit. Perfect for a young family outing that costs as little or as much as you want.
The Market runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon every Saturday, from May 24 through September 27, 2026. Perhaps you’re interested in investing a few hours once a week to market some of your own goods. Go to: Farmers Market | Thurmont, MD – Official Website.
