Thurmont Teams Meet in Babe Ruth Playoff Semifinals

The two Thurmont 14U Babe Ruth teams each played their way through the playoff bracket, setting up an all-Thurmont semifinal matchup. The Thurmont Blue Crabs entered the weekend 18-2, and the Thurmont Dirt Devils were 15-4-1.

The teams would both win their way into the semi-finals, where they faced each other for the opportunity to advance to the Championship Game.

After a great game of baseball, the Thurmont Blue Crabs prevailed with an 11-3 win to secure their spot in the Championship Game.

The Blue Crabs took on the Middletown Valley (Christoperson) at Nymeo Field in Frederick. The boys fought hard, but ultimately came up short in a 6-2 loss to Middletown.

Despite the championship loss, both Thurmont teams enjoyed outstanding seasons and represented the community well with their successful playoff runs.
