Thurmont Student Receives Top Biology Honor at Hamilton College

Nicholas Miller (pictured right) of Thurmont was recognized for academic excellence during Hamilton College’s annual Class & Charter Day ceremony on May 12.
Miller received The Holbrook Prize in Biology, an award presented to seniors who achieve the strongest academic records in six biology courses. The honor is one of several academic and scholarly achievement awards presented during the college’s longstanding annual celebration.
Held in Clinton, New York, Class & Charter Day combines the traditional observance marking the end of classes with a celebration of the college’s charter, granted on May 26, 1812. The event also includes an address from a historian, trustee, graduate, or faculty member focused on the college’s history and traditions.
Hamilton College is a liberal arts institution known for its open curriculum, undergraduate research opportunities, internships, and off-campus study programs. The college also maintains a need-blind admission policy designed to provide access for students, regardless of financial circumstances.
