Sheetz, along with the partnership of Thurmont American Legion and the Thurmont Lions Club, came together to honor and remember Veterans through the annual Wreaths Across America program in December. Over 5,200 locations nationally gathered to lay fresh evergreen wreaths at the headstones of U.S. Veterans.

“For the past two years, I have been responsible for organizing wreath deliveries to cemeteries throughout Sheetz’s footprint. As a Veteran myself, it is an honor to be involved,” Sheetz Logistics Analyst Chad Morral said.

Coordination includes Sheetz drivers going all the way to Maine to pick up hundreds of wreaths and then delivering them to cemeteries across the region.

In total, 144 wreaths were delivered to Weller Cemetery in Thurmont, where 25 volunteers helped lay wreaths on the graves.

The Thurmont Lions Club serves as the local sponsor for the Wreaths Across America program in the Thurmont area, and the Thurmont American Legion generously provides its facility as the central location for receiving and holding the wreaths prior to the wreath-laying ceremony.

The wreath-laying reflected the community’s shared commitment to remembering and honoring local Veterans, made possible through the support of area organizations and dedicated volunteers.
