Corrections: We need to apologize for several misprints and errors from

February’s issue.
First, the Member of the Year Award recipient was left out of the Vigilant

Hose Company Banquet article. See page 11 for this information in this issue.
Also, one of the five valued members lost in 2016 to Vigilant Hose Company
was misnamed. His name is Larry “ReRun” Ridenour (not Orndorff).

From the Emmitsburg Town Hall Report, “Statue of John Armstrong
will be erected” item sited a number of possible future projects that were
discussed at the town meeting. Some of them got mixed up in the report.
A statue of John Armstrong within the town is a future possibility, but is
not imminent. The Route 15 Visitor’s Center was being considered for two
things: a traveling display of Armstrong rifles and studio space for Casteel to
work on a Civil War monument. Since the article was published, the state has
decided to not allow these two things to happen in the visitor’s center. Sorry
for the confusion.

The spelling of the author’s name for the article, “On Fleek Brow
Boutique to Open in Thurmont,” should have been spelled Kerrin Marchese.

Finally, our big apology for a date error in the advertisement and Around
Town write-up for the Thurmont Ambulance Company’s dinner. While it was
correctly stated in the cover article about their new event facility. We worked
with the folks at Thurmont Ambulance to communicate the correction to the
public.
