Hello, everyone! Welcome to
the Thurmont Senior Center, where
our goal is to make your every visit
a pleasant one, filled with smiles,
laughter, and a fun time for your
every visit—thanks, in part, to
our coordinator, Teresa, and our
dedicated volunteers. Speaking of
volunteers, if you have some extra
time and want to put it to good use,
the Center is always looking for
volunteers, no matter how much
time or how little time you might
be able to give. Lunch time is a
time that we can always use more
volunteers, so give Teresa a call and
let her know when is the best time
for you to make life better for others
and for yourself.
As you and your loved ones
celebrate the 4th of July, please
remember that the Center will be
closed on Monday, July 3, and
Tuesday, July 4. We wish you all a
safe and great holiday!
The Center will open on
Wednesday, July 5, with our great
and growing 50/50 Bingo at 1:00
p.m. Many people like to come for
lunch on Bingo day to enjoy a great
meal prepared by Mountain Gate
Restaurant and to save their seats for
Bingo. If you would like to order
lunch (cost $6.00), make sure you
call 301-271-7911 to order your
lunch by Friday, June 30. Also, the
last day to sign up for a free lunch at
Country Meadows is on Wednesday,
July 5. On July 6 at 9:30 a.m., there
will be exercise and Tai Chi. From
12:00-2:00 p.m., the Memory Café
with free lunch and an activity will
be held. Call Teresa at the Center
for more information and to sign up
for lunch. Cards and games to play
begin at 1:00 p.m.
Exercise with Alice will take place
on Tuesday, July 11, at 9:30 a.m. You
make a donation in the basket. From
10:00 -11:00 a.m., you can kick up
your heels doing line dancing! At
1:00 p.m., play cards and games. On
Wednesday, July 12, the Center will
close at 1:00 p.m. for the monthly
board meeting. On Thursday, July
13, at 12:30 p.m., we have our
monthly birthday party for all those
celebrating a birthday in July; we
will have cake and ice cream for
everyone. At 1:00 p.m., have some
fun playing cards and games. Then,
at 5:15 p.m., those who signed up
are meeting at the Center to ride our
Thurmont Senior Center Wagon in
the Fireman’s Carnival Parade. The
wagon leaves at 5:30 p.m. to line up
for the parade. Please sign up if you
would like to ride on the wagon and
