The Emmitsburg Community Chorus kicked off the spring 2016 season by
singing at the Ecumenical Sunrise Service on March 27, 2016, at the Grotto in
Emmitsburg.
The Emmitsburg Community Chorus is in its forty-ninth year. The twenty-
five-plus, mixed SATB member group, rehearses on Tuesday evenings, from
7:00-9:00 p.m., in the Basilica at the Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.
Additional concerts open to the public will be on Sunday, May 15, 2016,
at 7:00 p.m. at Homewood in Frederick, Maryland; and Sunday, May 22,
2016, at 3:00 p.m. at Apples Church in Thurmont, where a free-will offering
will be collected to support the work of the chorus. There are other concerts
anticipated; however, they are not yet scheduled. The chorus continues
under the direction of Peggy Burrier Flickinger and pianist Lisa Mattia. The
Emmitsburg Community Chorus concerts are made possible in part by a grant
from the Frederick County Arts Council.
The chorus invites anyone who loves to sing to join us in the fall for our
new season. The first fall rehearsal will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016. This
will be a year of celebration, as the chorus will be celebrating fifty years in the
Emmitsburg community. If you are interested in participating, please contact
Betsy Graham at 301-898-7821 for more information.
