Obituary
Gloria Fay (Runkles) Keeney
1939 - 2015
Gloria Fay (Runkles) Keeney of Columbus, Georgia, went to
her final resting place on October 2, 2015. She was born in
Mt. Airy, Maryland, on September 13, 1939, to the late George
and Naomi Runkles, spending many years raised on a farm in
Thurmont. She graduated from Thurmont High School.
She loved country music and having her own band; she
performed many years throughout the Columbus area. She had
a passion for crafts and arts, keeping busy making something
useful and cute—should it be from a rock from her yard or
an empty Clorox bottle! Gloria owned and operated Gloria’s
Flea Market in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her
husband Staff Sgt. Calvin R. Keeney in 2002. Survivors are
two sons, Curtis of Boonsboro and Dwayne of Columbus; one
granddaughter, Lisa; and two great-grandsons of Brunswick,
Maryland; and a brother, Gary Runkles of Columbus. She was
laid to final rest in Fort Benning, Georgia.
