Boy Scout Troop 270, with the help of Cub Scout Pack 270, spent
two hours on a Thursday evening trudging the creek and scouring the
surrounding woods along the Trolley Trail, removing the winter’s collection
of trash and debris. In past years, the prize finds have been as varied as toilet
seats and VHS cassettes. There were no big items found this time, but the
youth filled two pickup truck beds with vehicle tires, construction debris, and
other household trash, blown in or washed down.
Being Prepared
Response time Courtesy Photo
when a person is
in need of CPR
(cardiopulmonary
resuscitation) is
critical. For every
60 seconds that
pass, chances of
surviving drops
by 10 percent
without CPR or
defibrillation.
After just four
minutes, brain
damage begins to
occur. Knowing CPR can save a person’s life. Knowing and practicing CPR
is what gives a person confidence to perform good CPR, giving the in-need
person a higher chance of survival. Girl Scout Troop 81200 knows how
important it is to be trained and stay trained in CPR/AED. Girls Scout Troop
81200 would like to thank the Thurmont Ambulance Company for hosting a
CPR/AED refresher class for them.
