Sabillasville Elementary School hosted its 4 Annual Sabillasville Scenic
th
5K / 1-Mile Fun Run on November 11, 2018. The event was organized by
the Sabillasville Elementary School’s Parent Group (SES-PG). They would
like to thank all of the runners and volunteers that came out to help support
the SES-PG by participating in this event! It turned out to be a beautiful day
for the event, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
The proceeds from the Scenic 5K / 1-Mile Fun Run will help provide
cultural arts programs, educational activities, and field trips for the students
of SES. This year, the event was held on Veterans Day. In honor of Veterans
Day, an SES Alumni, Mckenna Gisriel, kicked off the annual event by singing
a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. Mayor John Kinnaird was
also there to say a few words and start the race. There were many new and
familiar faces at the run this year.
The participants ran along the scenic route and were cheered on by
students, teachers, staff, and families of SES. Sabillasville Elementary School
looks forward to hosting it again next year and hopes to see more new and
familiar faces.
