Tips to Reduce Holiday Stress Riders from Therapeutic Riding
As much as we look forward to the fun and festivities of Compete at Frederick Fair

and Dominic McCall. These riders put on quite a show in the ring and on the
trail, surrounded by their family members and lots of volunteers who worked
as horse leaders, side walkers, and barn crew. More than thirty volunteers
moved the Therapeutic Riding barn, including their eight horses, saddles,
bridles, saddle pads, helmets, and water to the Great Frederick Fair on
Sunday, September 26, 2017.
Therapeutic riding students compete because they love to ride, to show
everyone how much they love their horses, and to win ribbons. While in the
ring, riders showed at the walk and trot, backing and reverse direction, with
and without leaders.
During the Trail Class, riders maneuvered their horses through a maze of
obstacles, stopping, picking up items, and weaving cones and backing.
First place winners in the Off Lead Classes were Sean Sweeney in Ring
and Trail. First place winners in the On Lead Classes were Colleen Allen and
Joedy Atkinson.
