Hello, everyone. I am really enjoying this early spring weather. I wanted to

Light Lemon Drops
Ingredients
1½ cups sugar 3½ cups lour
1 cup shortening 2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel ½ teaspoon baking soda
Traveling somewhere interesting or going on a day trip? Have
someone take a photo of you holding The Catoctin Banner, and your 2 eggs ½ teaspoon salt
photo could be included in our next issue. Email your photo, along with 1 cup lemon yogurt or sour cream sugar

Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. In large bowl,
cream sugar, shortening and lemon peel until light and luffy.
Add eggs; beat well. Add yogurt and lemon extract; mix well.
Lightly spoon lour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in lour,
baking powder, baking soda, and salt; blend well. Drop by
rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on prepared cookie
sheets; Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown around the
edges.
Yield: 72 (2½ inch) cookies.
