Are you ready for summer, folks? With our late winter and rainy spring,
you can bet that we are! The kids are almost out from school. Families are
ready to make memories on vacation. Summer sports teams will be competing
for their league titles.
If you are looking for ideas about places to go and things to do, check out

local activities that you can do without a lot of planning.

June is National Dairy Month. Check out our feature on the dairies of
Northern Frederick County. They’re a piece of our heritage.
We’d like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of two
prominent community members who recently passed away. Dr. Alan Carroll
served the Emmitsburg community as their local physician, and Rev. Mike
Simane served the Sabillasville community as the pastor at St. Mark’s
Lutheran Church and St. John’s United Church of Christ.
