Dear Reader:
Wow! What’s with the weather? We went from starting a search for a
new Noah’s Ark to feeling like we were wandering the desert, to searching
for multiple Arks. Regardless, Emmitsburg’s new pool is up and running.
The heat kept a lot of people indoors for Emmitsburg’s Heritage Day. What
a shame! It’s always a nice event with plenty of activities. Those who did
come out, and there were still many, had a blast.
Inside this issue, we will take a look at the new energy-saving Seton
Center and look at the region through the eyes of one of Catoctin’s Artists
in Residence. Thurmont was featured on Fox 5 television, turning some of
the locals into television stars for the morning.
You’ll find a variety of articles to help you enjoy the summer, whether
it is blistering hot or soggy. In this issue, you will see pictures from the
Thurmont parade, Guardian Hose Company Carnival, and our annual
favorite: fishy pics.
