Thurmont Lions Attend 95th
Multiple District 22 Convention
The 95th Multiple District 22 Convention was held May 15-18, 2017, in
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Lions Club Organization is a continent of
volunteers and a world of service. The convention covered Multiple Districts
22-A, 22-B, 22-C, 22-D and 22-W. The District Governors from all the
Districts were in attendance, in addition to the 1st Vice District Governors
and 2nd Vice District Governors. The importance in attending gave the
delegates the privilege of voting for the incoming District Governor and 1st
and 2nd Vice District Governors.
The Lions Club had another opportunity to meet and speak with the
International President Chancellor Bob Corlew, who was elected at the
99th International Convention, held in Fukuoka, Japan, June 24-28, 2016.
Also in attendance were the 2016-2017 Council of Governors and Past
International Directors.
A Memorial Service was held to commemorate the Lions and Lioness
who have departed this life during the past year. The Role of the Honored
Dead for the Thurmont Lions Club recognized Larry E. Mundy, Sr. If you
ever have an opportunity to attend a Multiple Convention, please do not
miss attending the Memorial Service program. Also, it will give you an
opportunity to renew friendships and learn more about Lionism.
The Thurmont Lions Club has been serving the Thurmont community
since 1929, and meets the second and fourth Wednesday at Mountain Gate
Restaurant, starting at 6:30 p.m. For additional information on becoming
