Seton Center Welcomed Community
to Open House
On Friday, Courtesy Photo
September 9,
2016, Seton
Center, Inc. in
Emmitsburg
welcomed the
community
to their Open
House for
the revealing
of new
signage, tours,
information
sharing, and light fare. Their mission is to assist low-income families, primarily
in Northern Frederick County, to meet their needs by offering supportive
human services.
Among the attendees were: community leaders (pictured above): Pastor Sean
Delawder of Trinity United Church of Christ in Thurmont, Frederick County
Council President Bud Otis, Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner, State
Senator Mikulski’s Representative Julianna Albowicz, and Emmitsburg Mayor
Donald Briggs. Also, Seton Center’s Board of Directors: Bill Wivell, Barbara
Wilson, Sister Martha Beaudoin, Tim Stuart, Linda O’Brien, Gery Brinks, and
Wayne Slaughter; staff members: Kenneth Droneburg, Sister Dorothy Folmer,
Carmen Hallock, Elda Dodson, Tina Lamont, Sister Martha Beaudoin, Denise
Sauvageau, Kelly Mays, and Missy Miller.
The new design for Seton Center’s signage, logo, and newsletter were
created by Thurmont resident and Volunteer Graphic Designer Janet Ochs. The
Grounds and Maintenance crews of
the Emmitsburg Daughters of Charity,
Seton Center staff, and a myriad of
volunteers, worked diligently for weeks
to refurbish new program spaces and
assist with the event. Father Steve
Trzecieski offered a touching message
and blessing.
Seton Center’s programs serve
local, under-resourced neighbors
include Holiday Helping Hands, Case
Management, and DePaul Dental
for adults. Newly added programs
include Getting Ahead in a Just-
Gettin’-By-World and Building Your
Resources, both aimed at equipping
and empowering participants to write
a new, brighter future story. Visit www.
setoncenterinc.org or call 301-447-
6102 for information.
