Vigilant Hose Company’s Annual Spring Fling
Soggy But Successful
Emmitsburg’s Vigilant Hose Company hosted its annual Spring Fling event on Echo Field at Mount St.
Mary’s University on a soggy Saturday, May 23, 2016. The anticipated community event was well attended,
considering the weather. Those in attendance didn’t seem to mind the mist, rain, drizzle, and mud.
Winners did not have to be present to win. A list of the winners can be found online by visiting www.
vhc6.com. If you were not present at the Spring Fling and you are a winner, prizes were mailed by Tuesday,
May 24, 2016.
The Spring Fling is Vigilant’s main fundraiser during the year.
Volunteers sold Spring Fling can coolies.

Even though participants were sheltered
under tents, they were prepared for the
weather with umbrellas and boots.
