Aftershock Fastpitch Softball Tryouts

Aftershock Softball will be expanding to a 12U and 14U team this year. These two new teams will be added to their existing 18U team to give the Aftershock
an exciting future in fastpitch softball! If you’re looking for a fastpitch team that is focused, energetic, and ready to play, come out and experience the
Aftershock. Each team will play a minimum of seven to eight tournaments: two fall and five spring/summer minimum.
Tryouts will be held at the Thurmont Community Park softball fields in Thurmont. All tryouts will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Please arrive early to meet with
the coaches and fill out paperwork.
Tryout dates for the 2016 - 2017 teams are: 12U (Head Coach Tom Brightshue) — August 9, August 17, and August 25 (if needed for call backs); 14U
— August 10, August 18, and August 23 (if needed for call backs); 18U (Head Coach Ron Wolfe) —August 11, August 16, and August 24 (if needed for
call backs). All teams will be selected and players notified by no later than Monday, August 29. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact them at
[email protected]. Age eligibility, according to birth year for the 2017 season (which begins August 1, 2016): 12U (birth date: 2004-2009);
14U (birth date: 2002-2007); 18U (birth date: 1998-2003).

Catoctin High School Softball Wraps Up Season as State Semi Finalist

Catoctin earned the win, with
Bryant pitching a complete-game four-
hitter with five strikeouts.
Catoctin’s defense was solid,
making several key plays, getting
the lead runner out multiple times.
Marlee Dinterman dove for a ball

save a run from scoring.
Catoctin won this game 6-1 over
North East of Cecil County.
With a record of 20-3, Catoctin
advanced to the Class 2A State
Championship that was held at the
University of Maryland Softball
stadium on May 27.
