Love takes many forms. We can “love” our friends, our significant other, our pets, and our favorite pizza. Love is a variety of different feelings, emotions, and attitudes, therefore very hard to define. But

Today, the findings of a 75-year longitudinal study by Harvard researchers indicate that love is undeniably the key to a happy and fulfilling life. The lead researcher, Dr. George Vaillant, wrote of his team’s
findings that essentially two ingredients correlate with a happy existence: “One is love. The other is finding a way of coping with life that does not push love away.” We asked our readers to send in their
love stories, and what they believe defines a loving and enduring relationship. We hope you enjoy reading their stories as much as we did. February is the month of love; celebrate your love during this
month and always, and make sure you tell the people you value in your life how very much they mean to you. Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at The Catoctin Banner.
