Look closely ... what do you see?

Night lights
scare away the dreaded
demons in the dark and spooky
corners of the night
feeble gleams
dispel the fears that creep
with every creaking step Photo taken late in the
squeaking door evening on Wednesday,
banging shutter October 2, 2013, at Sachs
when the whistling eaves Bridge in Gettysburg. Looks
invite the scary goblins to have a face in the middle
with peering eyes of the white “swoosh,”
and stringy fingers preparing to turn upward in
reach out and grab the direction of the swoosh.

trembling me.
Do I ever
whistle in the dark
so I won’t hear
these same and scary ... what do you see?
dreaded demons of the dark
with their lurking Look closely
stealthy stalking
accelerating the pulsations
of my thumping heart?
Never
do I ever
tremble, whistle, peer
over my fleeing shoulder
at whatever nothing This photo was taken in the late
