The Thurmont Regional Library
welcomes Amy Whitney to the
branch! Amy has been the branch
administrator at the Urbana Library
for a number of years. She is a
long-time Thurmont resident and
is looking forward to reconnecting
with the community through her
work at the library. Amy made the
move to the Thurmont Library on
September 17, 2018.
Did you take advantage of
Amnesty Weekend at the end of
August? Frederick County Public
Libraries hosted our first Amnesty
Weekend event, which allowed
customers to return overdue items
free of charge. Over the course
of the weekend, we waived about
$30,000 in late fees. We wanted to
help all of our customer base start
the school year off on the right
foot, and the program was very
successful.

The IRS VITA tax program
will again be preparing free tax
returns at the Thurmont Library for
eligible Northern Frederick County
residents, starting in February 2019.

to prepare tax returns or assist
residents to apply for property tax
