Thurmont Lions Club Donates to

PARENTS!
Community Night is an evening that Thurmont Lions Club (TLC) can
shine a light on the community organizations, as well as sight-related
organizations. Donations were presented to twenty-four organizations;
however, funds were previously donated to the Catoctin High School, and
all feeder schools, for scholarships, to teachers, Lions Vision Research
Foundation, Lions Saving Kids Sight, Lions Clubs International Foundation,
and so on. In total, TLC donated approximately $33,000 back to the
B.A.S.E. for the Blind; Maryland Parents of Blind Children; Catoctin Community
community.
Community focused organizations receiving donations were: Guiding Eyes
Medical Fund; Community Foundation of Frederick County; Maryland
Patriot Guard; Thurmont Ambulance Company; Catoctin High School and
Thurmont Middle School Leo Clubs; Thurmont Regional Library Nighttime
on the Deck; Thurmont Scouting; District 22-W Hearing and Speech
were present to receive the checks, and each spoke to the use or need for
Before & After School Enrichment Camperships; and many, many more. Representatives of each organization
which the funds would be used.
The club is always looking for dedicated men and women with a desire

accompany all registrations. Families who do not receive DSS assistance may apply for YMCA financial
assistance for B.A.S.E. Applications available at the YMCA registration desk and at www.frederickymca.org.
