department. I believe everyone bakes something at some point; why not try some
cookies? My husband likes these categories, because we only need six cookies to
be entered and the rest get to stay home.

I am sharing a quick recipe that you can try and enter in the “Bar Cookie” class.
Maybe this will inspire you to try more entries. Good luck, and I hope to see you
at our 60th Anniversary Show!

Southern Pecan Praline Bars

Ingredients 2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup butter or margarine ⅛ teaspoon salt
2¼ cups light brown sugar, packed 2 cups pecans, coarsely
2 eggs, lightly beaten chopped
2 teaspoons vanilla
1¼ cups all purpose flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
In medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter and brown sugar,
stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add eggs and vanilla;
stir until well combined. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, and
combine well. Stir in the pecans.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until
cookies pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool completely. If
desired, dust with confectioners sugar before serving.
