Thurmont Spirit Show Choir Returns from Mother Seton School Announces
The Big Apple with Lots to Smile About Christian Character Trait and Fruits
of the Holy Spirit Award Recipients

The Thurmont Spirit Show Choir (TSSC) just recently returned from
The Big Apple! They brought The Catoctin Banner to place in front of
this fabulous group photo aboard the Spirit of New York cruise ship. On
Friday, April 15, 2016, TSSC competed at Brooklyn College in the Walt Mother Seton School recognized the following students in March for exemplifying the Christian
Whitman Theater, where they received high marks with Superior ratings. Character Trait of Wisdom: Lexi Bryson and Kathleen Robinson (Pre-K); Thi Pham and Moira Tayler
(Kindergarten); Andre Babst and Trevor Jessup (Grade 1); Sophia Erdman and Kyle Kauffman
The Thurmont Middle School (TMS) students, under the direction of Berna (Grade 2); Chelsea Asiedu (Grade 3); Anthony Kinnamont and Timothy McCarthy (Grade 4); Pearl
Laforce, performed a singing and dancing routine, consisting of Broadway Walker (Grade 5); Kendall Abruzzese and Hannah Cavey (Grade 6); Bridget Collins (Grade 7); Daniel
style songs. The generous community support, along with fundraising McCarthy (Grade 8).
efforts from the students and parents, made this trip a huge success. The
group took an evening Double Decker bus tour, a breakfast/sightseeing
cruise, shopped and ate meals in the heart of New York City, and even
took in the Broadway Show Wicked. A fun time was had by all!
TSSC has upcoming events on May 7 at the Frederick County Show Choir
Festival, held at Oakdale High School, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., which benefits
the ARC of Frederick County; a Hershey Park competition on May 21; and
a Spring Concert on on May 24, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Thurmont Middle
School.
They encourage parents of upcoming middle schoolers and/or current
students at Thurmont Middle School, who are interested in this amazing
opportunity, to “like” their Facebook page: Thurmont Spirit Show Choir.

Hochschild (Grade 2); Olivia Adams (Grade 3); Vincent Reaver (Grade 4); Jonah Longenecker (Grade
5); Keola Evans and Christopher Nield (Grade 6); Gavin Marshall (Grade 7); Bryanna Parice (Grade 8).
