CHS leo Club Holds Annual “Wash Your

Wheels” at Thurmont Town Office

The Catoctin High School (CHS) Leos held their second annual “Wash Your
Wheels” car wash on Saturday, June 13, 2015, raising $267 and collecting
forty-five food items for the Courtesy Photos

at the old town office). You may
have seen Leo Alex and Leo Marah

you drove by the new Town Office.

new Program: Six to Fix


Preservation Maryland just announced a new program to help save
threatened historic resources across the state: Six-To-Fix. Six sites selected
to participate will receive a package of support, including seed funding,
technical assistance, and inclusion in a statewide publicity campaign. Know of
a building, landscape, or archaeological resource at risk of being lost? Submit
your nomination by July 20, 2015. If you have technical expertise to offer
(such as professional experience in architecture, engineering, law, business,
writing, or design), sign up to

Scholarships

Harriet Chapel, Catoctin
Episcopal Parish, has awarded the
2015 Frank V. Anders scholarship to
Claire Scott. Claire, a 2015 graduate
of Governor Thomas Johnson High
School in Frederick, Maryland, will
be attending University of Maryland
in Baltimore County this fall.
The Frank V. Anders Scholarship
is a $500 prize, awarded annually
to deserving students pursuing post
secondary education. The recipient
is selected by a committee of Harriet
Chapel parishioners. Preference
for the award is given to active
parishioners at Harriet Chapel and
first-time applicants. Non-parishioners
may also be nominated by current
parishioners of Harriet Chapel.
Applications are available each spring.
