USCC President Dennis R. Britton
In 2009, the U.S. Crossbow Club fought for the rights of crossbow enthusiasts by having Maryland’s hunting laws and regulations reversed to allow crossbows into the entire archery hunting season, and won. For the first time ever, it became official that all hunters could legally hunt with a crossbow without limits or restrictions during the 2009-2010 Maryland hunting season!

The U.S. Crossbow Club is the only national hunting organization to have its headquarters based in Maryland, on Tower Road in Thurmont.

The U.S. Crossbow Club has the most extensive crossbow awards program in the world, and on August 20, 2016, it held its Third Annual All Awards Presentation at the Bass Pro Shop in Hanover, Maryland. Loads of members, friends, and their spouses attended the event, as well as guest speakers, Harry Spiker (Maryland Department of Natural Resources black bear biologist), Lee Phillips, and Ronny Williams.

As Founder Dennis R. Britton stated, “Our mission is to promote all aspects of crossbow use, to provide our membership with the opportunity to hunt the wild game animal of their choice, in the state of their choice, and to recognize our member’s crossbow hunting talents with annual public presentations of certificates, trophies, and plaques.”
